Angela Parlane
MANAGING DIRECTOR - AUCKLAND
Angela is the Managing Director of Shine Lawyers NZ Limited and is primarily based in our Auckland Office. She obtained her LLB in 1994, and was admitted to the bar in New Zealand in September 1994.
Angela joined Shine Lawyers in February 2018 having spent the previous eight years running her own boutique law firm, Parlane Law.
She is committed to ensuring her clients receive justice and regularly obtains exceptional outcomes for her clients.
Pieter Venter
SPECIAL COUNSEL - AUCKLAND
Pieter is admitted as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand and is a Special Counsel within Shine Lawyers New Zealand. Pieter is an admitted advocate (barrister) of the High Court of South Africa, he also practised as an attorney (solicitor), conveyancer in South Africa, prior to his role as an advocate, offering over 20 years’ experience in the legal arena.
Pieter joined Shine Lawyers in September 2019. He has a wealth of experience in employment disputes (including labour related Labour Court and Labour Appeal Court matters, mediations and arbitrations).
Pieter is driven by his passion for ensuring justice is achieved for his clients. He thrives on ensuring his clients achieve the best possible representation and outcome. Pieter prides himself on being a pragmatic, analytical, meticulous, tenacious problem solver and logical thinker. Pieter is committed to upholding the values of integrity, confidentiality, accountability and ethical professionalism.
Joanne Kent-Johnston
ASSOCIATE - AUCKLAND
Joanne is an Associate in our Auckland office. She has an LLB from Auckland University and was admitted to the bar in New Zealand in 2015. Joanne joined Shine in 2014, as a Law Clerk, while in the last year of her study at Auckland University. Joanne previously worked for Air Zealand for 22 years. Having studied law later in life, Joanne has the advantage of having an abundance of life experience and knowledge to offer her clients.
Joanne is a very compassionate person who cares and empathises with people and the situations they are in. Joanne will always go the extra mile to try and achieve the best outcome possible for her clients.
Eoin Farrell
ASSOCIATE - CHRISTCHURCH
Eoin was admitted to practice as a solicitor in Ireland in 2010. He moved to New Zealand in 2011 and before joining Shine Lawyers he worked for a maritime law firm in Nelson. He was admitted to the New Zealand bar in 2017.
Eoin has gained experience across a wide range of litigation matters, including working on behalf of a large number of Indonesian fishermen who pursued a claim for unpaid wages while working in New Zealand waters on Korean fishing vessels.
Mitchell Jensen
SOLICITOR - AUCKLAND
Mitch is a Solicitor for Shine Lawyers New Zealand. He has studied for his degree at Auckland University.
Mitch is located in the Auckland office. He has gained experience at Shine in all areas of Shine’s practice including assisting in cases with legal research, document drafting, preparation of trial documentation, legal opinions and always displays dedication to his clients.
